Wrap magazine ...

I love magazines.  I could spend days flicking through glorious pages of fashion, graphics, interiors, art ........  the list goes on.  Therefore discovering Wrap magazine has made my week.  It is a beautiful publication with inspiring articles, thought provoking images and to top it all off - free wrapping paper with every issue!!!

Needle felting ...

Today I decided I would do some needle felting.  I bought a cheep sweatshirt from H&M kids wear range and drew a rough template to follow for the felting design.  I decided to start with something simple.  Using the fine wool and felting needle I achieved this.  Not perfect but not a bad start either!

Grubbies ...

Its been a busy weekend for me and my family with lots for things going on including a party at a farm.  In my attempt to have my children dressed appropriately for every occasion I sifted through the wardrobes for clothing that would allow them to have fun, get messy, keep warm and be able to wash up and look great for the next messy farm outing.  At the farm I met a lady who has started her own children's label called 'Grubbies'.  The products are fun denim play-suits, dungarees and dresses - just what I had been looking for!!

Decor 8 ...

I moved to an old house about 2 years ago and slowly my husband & I are doing it up and making it 'ours'.  I love an eclectic mix of old and new.  I love to search antique shops and 2nd hand shops for interesting pieces.  This week I have bought a bargain french side table for £30, only in need of a coat of paint - pics to follow!  In my quest for inspiration I buy many interior magazines but also find the internet perfect for this subject. Clothing labels ...

Most kiddies need their clothes & shoes labelled for school & pre school (as I have just found out).  So in my hunt for a supplier of such labels I came across this little gem of a company who make personalized labels with fun graphics.  They are slightly more pricey than the traditional kind but so much more fun!  Little Miss V loves hers!

Rainbow cake ...

I made this cake for a friends little boy's 4th birthday.  Its made of vanilla sponge in 6 layers each coloured with a different rainbow shade.  The cake is sandwiched together with jam & butter icing.  x

Fab cushion ...

Oh My!!  I am a huge pinner on Pinterest and sometimes I come across something that just makes me so happy that I want to try and make it myself.  This fantastic little cushion is on my to-do list!!

Egg carton flowers ...

We keep chickens and the eggs are delicious, they come in very handy with all the cakes & baking I love to do.  Friends & family always save the egg boxes for us and we seam to always have a huge amount stored in the pantry.  I thought it might be nice to try making something out of the boxes with my 3 year old daughter.  We tore out pieces of the egg box and painted them and attached pipe cleaners to make flowers.  Lots of fun!

Chocoholic ...

I love chocolate!!  Milk, dark, white you name it I love it.  So I bought some fun moulds from ebay - hearts, robots and hello kitty for my daughter and we made our own chocolates.  Some were straight forward milk or white, others layers of dark, milk & white.  We also put mini smarties inside others, pieces of fudge, bits of smashed up crunchy bars etc.  Easy and very yummy!!  x

Nanny bunnies ...

I have been meaning to make these for a while but eventually made them in time for my beautiful niece's birthday.  After loosing my mother-in-law to the big 'C' back in 2009 I inherited some cashmere jumpers.  Although not in my size I felt I needed to keep them as a keepsake.  However when my 2nd child arrived earlier this year I decided the jumpers should be reworked into soft toys for my 2 daughters and their cousins.  Therefore named 'Nanny Bunnies'.  Here are the results of my efforts.  The vintage print contrast cotton fabrics I bought from fabricrehab.co.uk and the buttons were ones I had already in my button jar.  The bunnies have been a huge hit with not only the children of the family but also the adults.

Mum's birthday cake...

It was my Mum's birthday at the weekend so I made her a cake.  I made a basic vanilla sponge with raspberry jam & butter icing filling.  The large rose flowers were bought from  surbitonart.co.uk and the smaller flowers from Sugar Craft Centre in Hullbridge.  surbitonarts.co.uk

Southsea Kite Festival

We took a little trip to Southsea on the August bank holiday and for the kite festival.  The sky was full of amazing shaped kites and the colours looked fantastic against the blue sky.  My eldest daughter loved it!
